An exploration of one colour palette across a geometric form, painted freely without taped edges.
For this piece, I wanted to explore how a single colour palette could move across the whole geometric form. Unlike my taped works, I painted without masking the edges, allowing a more organic feel to emerge across the surface. Burgundy and violet tones carry through the relief, bringing the softness of the painted finish into conversation with the precision of its structure.
Long shadows, maximum separation between facets. The geometry at its sharpest.
Shadows collapse. Colour takes over and the surface reads closer to painting.
Ridges catch, valleys drop away. The piece reads heavier, closer to sculpture.
