Altūm (Al-toom) is a Melbourne-based art studio creating original geometric relief, a form of art where the painted surface extends physically from the wall, bringing the presence of sculpture into the footprint of a painting.

Each artwork begins as an architectural study in geometry, depth and light. Its three-dimensional form is designed using custom-built technology, then constructed, refined and painted entirely by hand. As light moves across its planes and edges, the work shifts with it, changing through the day and from every angle.

Every Altūm artwork is unique twice over. The sculptural geometry is created for one work only and never repeated; the painting across it is equally individual, built by hand, facet by facet. The result is an original painting and an original sculptural form in one, that is engineered with precision, finished by the human hand, and made to live with the architecture around it.

The completed relief is then hand-painted, bringing colour, depth and character to the engineered surface.

Because the geometry is created uniquely for each piece, no two Altūm artworks will ever be the same.
